WordWorld is a children's educational television show that is shown on PBS. WordWorld revolves around WordFriends and WordThings, characters and items made of the letters that spell them, in the correct order. So, for example, a barn is made out of the letters B-A-R-N, and a pie out of P-I-E, shaped so that they actually look like a barn or pie — with this rule extending to the animals who are the sentient characters in the show. The WordThings can be assembled and disassembled during the show by the characters, who use the items in their adventures and to solve their problems.

WordWorld won an Emmy for "the best main title sequence in daytime television programming."

Main Characters

• Dog - is a fun-loving dog who always likes to play with his WordFriends. He is the bravest among his WordFriends as he was able to communicate with a monster in the episode "Dog's Camping Trip" and follow a ghost, which was actually Pig that was sleepwalking in a blanket in the episode "A Kooky Spooky Halloween." He is also the only WordFriend who cannot talk. He lives in a HOUSE.
• Sheep - is a WordFriend who is kindhearted and intelligent. However, sometimes she can be a little selfish and abusive in other things she use. She is also not that much eloquent as she tends to say "Oh, um, um," in every sentence she says. She lives in a HAY.
• Frog - is a very intelligent and clever WordFriend. He has hydrophobia and tends to say "Water, yuck." He is also the most uncourageous of all the other his WordFriends. He lives in a LOG .
• Pig - is a WordFriend who always likes to eat food as he tends to eat the food he creates in his television show, "Cooking With Chef Pig." He lives in the BARN.
• Duck - is a WordFriend who is very playful and energetic. He loves to make friends with anyone. He also can't pronounce words well like in the episode "Sh-Sh-Shark" where he called Shark "Sahark." He lives in a NEST.
• Bear - is a WordFriend who is kind and clever. In the episode "Nightlight," it was revealed that Bear was afraid of the dark. She also appears to be a good artist. She lives in a CAVE.
• Ant - is the best friend of Pig. He also advises Pig not to eat the food Pig creates in his show "Cooking With Chef Pig." He has a lot of cousins that he usually calls for backup when there is a big situation. He also has a role as a cameraman in Pig's show. He lives in Pig's BARN or the ANTHILL where he works as a radio announcer.
• Shark - is a friendly and gentle WordFriend who loves to make friends. He appears to be clever and smart. During his maiden appearance, other WordFriends are frightened and scared of him, due to his scary and menacing appearance. Shark lives in a sand CASTLE in the sea.
